Why do I see flight options in Business Class when I search for First Class?

We combine classes-of-service to show both Business and First Class options on our site because there is no standardized definition of ‘First Class.’  Some airlines, such as Delta and United Airlines, market their premium-cabin seats for flights operated within the United States as ‘First Class.’ However, these same seats can be booked with points at Business Class prices.

Additionally, many airlines that offer a ‘true’ First Class (i.e. an aircraft with First Class, Business Class, and Economy cabins) only offer that class-of-service on select routes. You may need to make a connecting flight in Business Class to access a true First Class cabin. For instance, a traveler wanting to fly from New Delhi, India (DEL) to New York City (JFK) on Etihad First Class via Abu Dhabi (AUH) would fly Business Class from New Delhi to Abu Dhabi, then connect to Etihad First Class from Abu Dhabi to New York City.
