Sr. Business Development Manager - Distributed / Remote

The position

point.me is looking for a Business Development Manager to drive our key card issuer and commission-based partnerships. This is a challenging, senior role where you will need to quickly understand our business landscape and lead indirectly through influence to bring a comprehensive BD / strategic partnership strategy to market and execute on it.

This is a senior role, with commensurate responsibility and compensation. The anticipated on-target range is $180,000 to $230,000 in addition to significant equity. Specific compensation will be determined based on your level of experience. We are a fully distributed team.

What You'll Do

Ultimately, you’ll be assisting an innovative travel start-up in reaching global scale by identifying opportunities to grow the business. This role requires thought leadership and business partnership with the broader senior leadership team to drive performance, strategy and execution; we expect you to be a careful steward of the business and treat it as your own.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Based on point.me’s near and long-term business objectives, identify and tier a list of key accounts in the banking, travel, and loyalty space
  • Create and implement a strategic business development plan, including account plans (e.g., profile, decision making unit map, whitespace analysis, time to revenue, outreach and action plan, etc.) for each key account
  • Define custom and standardized offerings and bring them to market
  • Identify steps in the business development process (e.g., discovery to expansion) for different types of opportunities and partnerships (e.g., distribution, integration, etc.)
  • Negotiate contracts and close new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., finance, legal, product, marketing, executive team) to ensure partnerships align with business priorities and are appropriately resourced
  • Deepen existing partnerships by defining an engagement strategy, building relationships as a trusted advisor, and leveraging quantifiable business insights to drive expansion use cases
  • Work with RevOps to migrate accounts, contacts, deal/opportunity pipelines, stages, and automations from Notion and Spreadsheets to CRM (Hubspot)
  • Leverage quantifiable insights from BI tool/data and product teams, partner data to create business cases that inform account strategy, deepen partnerships, and create mutual value
  • Produce regular updates on key meetings, pipeline generation activities, deal progression, implementations, and partnership ROI
  • Own forecasting P&L for your book of business

What You Have

  • 5+ years in role accountable to revenue generation with successful track record
  • Previous experience as founding BizDev Manager, Account Executive, or similar preferred
  • Existing relationships in banking, travel, loyalty strongly preferred
  • Growth mindset, proactively seeks out coaching and feedback and has a quick bounce-back from setbacks
  • Strong organization and project management skills, especially in a remote environment with a distributed team
  • Excellent communication, executive presence, and collaboration skills. You can speak with both passion and business acumen, handle negotiations, and are effective at developing and delivering sales presentations
  • GM Skillset: Fast learner, fast executer, strong collaborator
  • Performance-oriented, with an interest in taking ownership of situations and a desire to roll up your sleeves
  • Previous experience in tech companies serving both businesses and consumers is a significant advantage
  • Strong interest and knowledge of travel industry, airline industry and/or credit card loyalty programs
