What is the Explore tool?

Explore helps you discover where your points can take you with point.me Explore. Browse the lowest award flight fares by destination and date across hundreds of routes, no destination required.

Find Your Next Award Trip with Explore

Not sure where you want to go? That's exactly what Explore is for.

point.me Explore is a visual discovery tool that shows you the cheapest award flight fares across the world's most popular routes, so you can find a trip worth booking before you've even decided on a destination. Instead of searching flight-by-flight, you can browse an interactive world map and a fare calendar heat map at the same time, spotting deals by geography and timing in seconds.

How Explore Works

Explore surfaces recently found lowest daily fares across point.me's most-searched routes. Two visual tools work together to help you zero in on the right trip:

The world map shows the cheapest available award fares by destination. Pan, zoom, and tap any route to see what your points could get you.

The fare calendar heat map shows which dates on a given route have the lowest award prices, so you can plan around your flexibility rather than fight for a specific day.

Together, they let you answer two questions at once: where should I go, and when is the best time to go there?

What's Currently Supported

Explore currently covers:

  • Departures from point.me's top 30 most popular U.S. origin airports
  • Award fare data up to 360 days out
  • The most popular destinations worldwide

Not every route or date will have data available at all times. If you're not seeing results for a specific origin, destination, or date, use Flight Search to run a complete real-time query.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I filter Explore results by passenger count or by my credit card points or loyalty program?

Not at this time. Explore is designed as a starting point for discovery. Once you've identified a route and date you're interested in, you can run a full search in Flight Search and filter by program, cabin, passengers, and more.

  • The fare calendar isn't showing data, or some dates appear blank. Does that mean no award seats are available on those dates?

There might still be flights available, even if a calendar date is blank. Run a live search using Flight Search to see complete, real-time availability for any date.

  • I'm searching for flights a year from now and not seeing many award options. Why is that?

Many airlines don't release award seats until around 330 days before departure, so if you're searching beyond that window, you're likely seeing limited availability simply because some airlines haven’t released their award seats yet. Check back as your travel dates get closer and you'll often see more options open up.

  • My home airport isn't listed as a departure airport. Does that mean there are no award flights available from there?

Explore currently shows departures from the 30 most popular U.S. origin airports, but that doesn't limit what you can search using our standard Flight Search! You can still run a normal search to look up flights from any airport.

Pro tip: Many point.me users who fly out of smaller airports search from a larger nearby hub, or an airport that's conveniently on the way to their destination. Positioning yourself to a bigger airport can open up significantly more award availability, especially if you're chasing business or first class seats.

  • The destination I'm looking for has very few airports listed, or none at all. Does that mean there are no award flights to that area?

Not at all. Explore currently highlights the most popular destinations, so not every airport in every region will appear on the map yet. If you don't see your destination in Explore, it doesn’t mean you can’t still travel there. Head to Flight Search to search any origin and destination directly and see what's available.

  • Are the prices shown for one way or round trip?

All prices shown are for one way.

  • Can I filter for business class?

    Not at this time.

  • What's the difference between Explore and Flight Search?

Flight Search is built for when you know where you're going and when. Every result is pulled from live data, and you can filter by credit card loyalty program, cabin class, and passenger count for a specific date and route.

Explore is for earlier in the process, when you're still figuring out the trip. It shows recently found fares across hundreds of routes at once, so you can browse by destination and timing without committing to a specific date or place first.
