Sr. Manager, Data Analytics and Operations - Distributed / Remote

The position

This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, a solid background in analytics, and the ability to drive data initiatives across the organization. You’ll work with a large variety of data sources to look for trends and lead the charge in transforming us into a data-driven company. You should have at least four years of experience as a data analyst and experience leading teams of analysts, scientists, and/or engineers. You should not be afraid of large, unstructured data sets and be highly analytical with a strong background in mathematics and statistics. Experience with machine-learning, data science, and research is also a plus.

Your work will directly impact the way rewards points are maximized and help people travel better.

This is a senior role, with commensurate responsibility and compensation. The anticipated salary range is $156,000 to $190,000 in addition to significant equity. Specific compensation will be determined based on your level of experience. We are a fully distributed team.

What You'll Do

Ultimately, you’ll be assisting an innovative travel start-up in reaching global scale by identifying opportunities to grow the business. This role requires thought leadership and business partnership with the broader senior leadership team to drive performance, strategy and execution; we expect you to be a careful steward of the business and treat it as your own.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and mentor a team of analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across various departments to understand their data needs and provide tailored analytics solutions.
  • Deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Track against Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to measure the success and impact of data initiatives.
  • Analyze product performance and user behavior to provide insights that drive product development and optimization.
  • Identify and act on opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in data operations.
  • Design and implement A/B testing strategies to measure and improve product features and user experience.
  • Lead the management of our data warehouse, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and efficient, providing reliable data storage solutions.
  • Supervise the development and ongoing maintenance of data pipelines, guaranteeing accurate and timely data flow throughout the organization.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development.

What You Have

Required:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in analytics, with a proven track record in data management and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a team of analysts, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, balancing short-term needs with long-term goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Proven experience with Snowflake, dbt, and a leading BI tool such as Sigma, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • GM Skillset: Fast learner, fast executer, strong collaborator.
  • Performance-oriented, with an interest in taking ownership of situations and a desire to roll up your sleeves.
  • Previous experience in tech companies serving both businesses and consumers is a significant advantage.
  • Strong interest and knowledge of travel industry, airline industry and/or credit card loyalty programs.

Preferred:

  • 2+ years experience in managing a team of analysts, demonstrating strong leadership, effective mentoring, and the ability to foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • A proven history of outstanding performance in startup environments.
