Why do I see flight options in Business Class when I search for First Class?
We combine classes-of-service to show both Business and First Class options on our site because there is no standardized definition of ‘First Class.’ Some airlines, such as Delta and United Airlines, market their premium-cabin seats for flights operated within the United States as ‘First Class.’ However, these same seats can be booked with points at Business Class prices.
Additionally, many airlines that offer a ‘true’ First Class (i.e. an aircraft with First Class, Business Class, and Economy cabins) only offer that class-of-service on select routes. You may need to make a connecting flight in Business Class to access a true First Class cabin. For instance, a traveler wanting to fly from Athens, Greece (ATH) to New York City (JFK) on British Airways First Class via London (LHR) would fly Business Class from Athens to London, then connect to British Airways First Class from London to New York City.
