Director, Growth - Distributed / Remote

The Position

We are looking for a growth expert to help take to the next level. You will own the development and evolution of the strategy for account-based marketing campaigns, coach and mentor a small team of experts, all while keeping your skills in tip-top shape by owning and executing your own campaigns and programs.

This hybrid role of hands-on doer and leader will oversee the strategy, tactics, operational processes, reporting, and team for targeted marketing campaigns while developing the best practices and strategies to enable rapid growth of a SaaS company, including attracting, recruiting, and retaining top talent. The ideal candidate is expected to provide thoughtful leadership and support to the following functions: Product Marketing, Retention/Conversion, Demand Generation, Brand Relationships/Affiliate & Social Media.

This is an executive level role, with commensurate responsibility and compensation. The anticipated salary range is $153,000 to $187,000, in addition to significant equity. Specific compensation will be determined based on your level of experience.

What You'll Do

Ultimately, you’ll be assisting an innovative travel start-up in reaching global scale by identifying opportunities to grow our market presence, increase our customer base, and retain existing clients.

As the Director of Growth, you will define the strategic vision for and lead's growth efforts. You'll be a passionate advocate for your team and our customers, and will work closely with our Co-Founders and current team members to develop and execute our growth strategy. This role requires thought leadership and business partnership with the broader senior leadership team to drive performance, strategy and execution; we expect you to be a careful steward of the business and treat it as your own.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Building, managing and inspiring a high-performing team of sales and marketing professionals
  • Providing coaching and feedback that helps our employees meet and exceed their priorities and expectations, and creates an environment for everyone to thrive
  • Creating growth/marketing functions and developing plans to ensure we are meeting acquisition, retention, and revenue targets while ensuring the right balance of a comprehensive process versus rapid execution to maintain a regular cadence of campaigns and predictable results per quarter
  • Driving results-oriented thinking across the organization by consistently using data to iterate and improve marketing programs and results and setting realistic and achievable campaign/program KPIs and metrics for self and team
  • Developing the marketing plan campaign strategy needed to promote, including defining the appropriate mix of campaign elements and messaging, and being accountable for a global budget
  • Implementing and optimizing comprehensive marketing programs, standards, and best practices, including metrics and reporting
  • Owning the entire demand generation process, and empowering your team 
  • Identifying opportunities for engagement, process improvement, and increased customer satisfaction

What You Have

  • 8-10 years of experience in growth and/or demand generation, with 5+ years in a leadership role, ideally in a SaaS environment
  • Prior success in a scaling startup, ideally having led a growth function through from early to mid stage
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, with a high level of energy and unrelenting drive
  • Ability to fully define a digital strategy, with proven experience in managing the end-to-end delivery of data-driven marketing and communications
  • Performance-oriented and entrepreneurial spirit, with an interest in taking ownership of situations
  • Skilled digital project delivery across Digital Marketing, Paid Media Channels, Customer Data Platforms and Data Management Platforms and each stage of the marketing cycle
  • Strong analytical skills, with a general understanding of the application of data, types of data and how to collect requirements for data at each touchpoint of the journey for activation purposes
  • Experience building comprehensive reporting and dashboards, and driving data-driven optimization and investment decisions
  • Knowledge of marketing effectiveness measurement, marketing KPIs and metrics
  • Clear-eyed understanding of digital advertising, including a healthy distrust of ad tech and vanity metrics 
  • Proficiency in modern professional tools (Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace), with deep experience in Hubspot/Salesforce, and hands-on experience with other marketing technology tools like Google Marketing Platform, Outreach/Salesloft, Google Analytics, LinkedIn campaign manager, Programmatic DSPs and Ad Tech etc., and proper application of these
  • A passion for building relationships with your team, other internal groups, and especially customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including handling virtual meetings, basic presentations, and managing Slack chatter
  • Tech savviness, and innate curiosity towards finding solutions that streamline processes or improve the day-to-day of your team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage an internal team, as well as demand generation and/or creative agencies
  • Strong interest and knowledge of travel industry, airline industry and/or credit card loyalty programs
